A bad tooth doesn't care that it's 6:00 AM. Call (773) 555-0199 and a person picks up, day or night. Our dentists see emergency patients Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at 5841 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634, on Belmont between Central and Austin in Belmont Cragin. Call before you come. There are no walk-ins here; the phone call is how you get a time.
The $99 covers an emergency exam, consultation and panoramic X-ray. Fees may be adjusted due to complications or unforeseen circumstances. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

How a same-day emergency visit works
Three steps, and the first one is the phone.
- Phone first. Call (773) 555-0199 and say what's going on. Between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM on a weekday, the front desk answers and gives you a time that day. We hold emergency slots at 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM every weekday for exactly this. Outside those hours, an answering service writes down your name, your number and a line about the problem, then reserves the earliest slot for you: the next business morning at 7:00 AM.
- Your time is held. Have a photo ID with you, and your insurance card if you hold a plan. Park on site. Come a few minutes early so the paperwork is done before your appointment time. A walk-in can't be seen, so don't skip the call even if you're already on Belmont.
- See the dentist. The dentist looks the tooth over, goes through the X-ray with you and says what they see. You get the treatment price in writing. Agree to it, and the work starts.
$99 emergency exam and X-ray
The visit begins with a $99 emergency exam, consultation and panoramic X-ray. The panoramic image shows every tooth, both jaws and the sinuses in one picture, which matters when pain is hard to pin down to a single tooth. Once our dentist knows what's wrong, you get a separate written quote for the treatment. Nothing is done until you've read that number and said yes.
We don't post treatment prices online. A cracked molar and a cracked molar with an infection underneath are two different jobs, and the X-ray is what tells them apart. Our cost and insurance page walks through how each visit is priced and which plans we work with.
Insurance and payment
We work with most PPO plans, many Medicare dental plans and selected HMO plans. When your plan is one we work with, the exam and X-ray are billed to your plan. Mention the plan's name when you phone and we verify it before you arrive.
For paying over time, we work with CareCredit, Cherry, Sunbit, Eve Financial and Proceed financing. Ask about it before treatment starts, not after.
Open weekdays at 7am
The doors open at 7:00 AM Monday through Friday and we close at 1:00 PM. A tooth that wrecked your night's sleep can be looked at before your shift starts, while the salt trucks are still out on Belmont. The 1:00 PM close is real. If you call after 1:00 PM on a weekday, we may be able to see you later that day by appointment. If not, you get the first opening the next morning.
Saturday and Sunday the office is closed. The phone isn't. Call on a Bears Sunday and whoever picks up writes down your details and keeps Monday's 7:00 AM slot under your name. Our weekend and after-hours page walks you through a night with a toothache, a swelling or a knocked-out tooth, and tells you when a hospital is the right place instead.

Frequently asked questions
Can I just walk in?
No. We don't accept walk-ins. The emergency slots at 8:00, 11:00 and 1:00 only work if we know you're coming, and a call to (773) 555-0199 is how we know. It takes a couple of minutes. Call from the bus if you have to.
What if the pain starts Friday night?
Call anyway. A person answers 24/7. After 1:00 PM on a weekday and all weekend, that's our answering service. They note your name, number and the problem and reserve the next open slot, which after a weekend is Monday at 7:00 AM. Until then, a drugstore pain reliever used as its label directs, plus something cold against the cheek, usually keeps it bearable.
Will you pull the tooth today?
When the exam and X-ray show extraction is the right call and you've signed off on the quoted price, yes. Our dentists do simple and surgical extractions here, including wisdom teeth. If the tooth can be kept, we explain what the tooth needs and the next step.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. During office hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, our front desk team speaks Spanish. The main pages of this site are available in Spanish too, starting at our Spanish home page.
